When we design sediment basin, do we need to design silt trip as well? Or is it sufficient to provide sediment basin only? Is the procedure of silt trap design outlined in MSMAM?

Sometimes sediment basins are also referred to as silt traps. In MSMA, there is guideline for design of sediment basin, but there is no guide for silt traps. So presumably it is not a requirement to provide them.
