2.6 Worked Example 2.4
Design OSD for a hypermarket in Kuala Lumpur.
Total area is 40,000 m2.
Assume that 80% of the surface area is impervious and the rest pervious.
The times of concentration are as follows:
tc= 10 min (factory site outlet)
tcs= 5 min (roof and property drainage)
Assuming a composite storage with 40% above ground storage and 60% below ground storage.

Worked Example 2.2 (OSD In Ipoh)
Answer :
SSR above ground = 1020.8 m3.
SSR below ground = 1124.5 m3.
Worked Example 2.3 (OSD in Penang)
Answer :
SSR above ground = 1989.9 m3.
SSR below ground = 2156.4 m3.
Worked Example 2.4 (OSD Kuala Lumpur)
Answer :
40 % SSR above ground = 340.1 m3.
60% SSR below ground = 585.92 m3.
SSR = Site Storage requirement
